As I sit here now feeling the greatest, dealing with kidney stones, I needed a laugh. Sure enough, my FAVORITE SHOW EVER came through for me.

Hehehehehe…

August 10th, 2008 by emp

That is all I can say looking at these, LOL!! Photographed a boxer, Lilly (sneak below), and this little lady, Jazmine Marie, today. OMG, she is so adorable! Jazmine is a silky terrier. Not too familiar with the breed, but they are small and uber cute. Her mom and dad brought her in during our pet mini-shoots today. So glad they did…thank you!

Now Lilly, a beautiful, brindle boxer. She is a rescue dog and you can tell she loves her new momma. Kept her in sight and though mom may not think so, listened really well. I have a ton of gorgeous shots of her. Just a few that grabbed my attention as I was culling through the images.

Notice the Coach collar?  LOVE IT!!

We’ve hit a milestone…Bremerton children’s photography

August 10th, 2008 by emp

As any photographer will tell you, when kids are about 5-7 years old, they give you fake, “Cheese” smiles. With Allison, that is what I would always get. She would tilt her head to one side, grin from ear to ear and squint that wouldn’t allow you to see her big, beautiful brown eyes. Well today, I saw something different. I saw my 7 y.o. (will be 8 in November), look at me and I was able to see the little girl I see everyday. No fake smiles. Only a slight head tilt and those eyes. Those gorgeous brown eyes that have been dark since the day she was born! Not the greatest photo in the world, but I love it. My daughter, who is well protected by her 3 brothers…Allison.

Gosh, she is so beautiful. Makes me tear up!

Senior Pictures in Kitsap County

August 5th, 2008 by emp

I am currently scheduling senior sessions for this fall. I have a few dates left open for August and am working on September and October. It’s hard to believe we’re at this point already. Seems like school got out yesterday!

If you are in need of senior pictures (class of 2009!!), give me a call so we can schedule your session ASAP before it’s too late. It’s especially important to schedule a session now if you are in need of a yearbook photo. Most schools around here have a yearbook deadline of end of October. That means, you will need to have your session completed by the beginning of October.

To reserve your date, give me a call, (360) 550 - 4419 to schedule or you can email me, erikamounts@gmail.com or fill out the contact page ( link above).

Meet one of your follow reps…Ellie from Olympic High School

Vintage Alexander

August 3rd, 2008 by emp

There is dirt on his face. His hair is messy. Technically not the greatest photos, but you know what, I *adore* them!

For those that don’t know, we moved last weekend. I am still in the process of getting the house organized, which includes my home office. I wanted to make sure my external drives, that hold old client images, were working properly and came across images from when we lived in Hawaii. I believe these were taken either shortly before Zach’s before or shortly after. That puts Alex at about 2.5 years old. Hard to believe how long ago that was. It honestly seems like yesterday.

I miss seeing this face. He still gets dirty from playing outside all the time, but those baby curls that everyone told me to cut, I miss them. I want his hair to be like that again. I loved going outside and seeing his sweet face playing in the sand, jumping on the trampoline with our neighbor, Abi, and being his innocent, quiet self.

Alex is now 4, short hair and his favorite saying is, “It’s not fair!” It’s his reply to everything. It’s 10 pm and it’s bedtime…IT’S NOT FAIR! We’re having steak & potatoes for dinner verses Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal…IT’S NOT FAIR! The older kids want to watch Cartoon network rather than Zaboomafoo…IT’S NOT FAIR! You get the picture ;)

It’s all good though. I have these images to look back on and remember the quiet times when all was ‘mostly’ fair in our house. Now time to get off the computer, no more work and go hug my kids. I don’t do it often enough :(

till next time…

Miss Lucy Lu Mounts

July 22nd, 2008 by emp

Meet our very own, spastic, love’s pop (soda cans for all you folks who say soda), EMP mascot…Miss Lucy Lu Mounts. Lucy for short. She is a ball of energy, who would probably continue playing non-stop if I didn’t put her in her crate every once in awhile.

Occasionally, she will make an appearance at the studio and will often be seen talking short walks around the studio. She is super friendly, though still needs to work on her manners. She likes to jump and kiss!

If you can’t tell from the photo, Lucy is a miniature schnauzer. She’ll get to be around 10 pounds or so. My sister-in-law has one, Buddy, and he’s 15 lbs. A recent client has one, and she’s 10 lbs, so we’ll see where Lucy ends up at. I can’t wait for her beard to get longer. Maybe I’ll give her doggy braids, though I find it very unlikely she’ll sit still long enough for me to do that, LOL!!

Here’s Lucy, 3 months old.

P.S. Check out the watermark. Like it??!!!! When we finally launch our pet division, this is the name we’ll be going by for pet portraits. So excited!!

Who wants a treat?

July 14th, 2008 by emp

I think these babies do!!!!! And they deserve one too. Though my rug got peed on, Miss Lola acting like a spaz at first and it being 200 degrees F in my studio, oh, and not to mention my limited experience with photographing dogs, I think I managed quite well, LOL!!!

Over the next few months, EMP will be expending into pet photography. Right now, we are looking for new faces and practicing the skills. Photographing animals is a ton of fun, but a lot of work. They’re kind of like babies, but mobile. Perhaps next time, I should wear a clown suit so I can have all the noise makers attached to me. Bells on my shoes, squeaky toy on my side, something fuzzy to hold over my hold and a pants full of dog treats to gift them with, despite Pam’s advice that it gives them gas!

Without further ado, a few sneak peeks from yesterdays pet mini-sessions:
